The Chickle Is Hot Chicken Stuffed Into A Bun Made Out Of A Pickle

Baseball stadiums are the home of some pretty questionable food hybrids. Who could forget the spam doughnut, or the thousand-calorie caramel abomination known as the churro dog? Now though, I have come across a dish that has not only piqued my interest, but has shaken to the core my knowledge of all things food: the Chickle.

The final two games of these Minor League playoffs are taking place in Fresno, California, and if you’re lucky enough to attend one of these games, you’ll be able to enjoy this incredibly special meal while the baseball takes place.

Oh God. What is that? Why is that? The Chickle attempts to bring together both sides of this Minor League playoff: taking Nashville’s signature dish of hot chicken, and for some reason, stuffing it inside a giant pickle that would ostensibly be some kind of tangy hot dog bun. As a fan of both pickles and chicken, I don’t mind having a couple of pickles in my chicken burger from time to time, but has culinary innovation gone too far with the Chickle?

If you’re in the mood for some chicken and pickle and happen to be in Fresno, then you can go on down to Chukchansi Park, the Fresno Grizzlies Stadium, to chow down on a Chickle. You’ll have to hurry, though; this pickle chicken amalgamation is only available during the playoffs, the final match of which is today at 7:05 pm. You’ve got one day before this extremely interesting dish is lost to the world forever.
