Forget Unicorns, Mermaids and Rainbows, Glitter Galaxy Bagels Have Arrived

Forget all about unicorns and mermaids. They're so passé. These days, it's all about glitter, so throw your rainbow bagel in the trash before anyone sees it and listen up.

The Bagel Store, the New York bakery which was behind the original colorful bagel hype, have just revealed the glitter galaxy bagel - and it will well and truly take you to a galaxy far, far away.

The intergalactic wheat dough snack in question is covered in swirled purple, black, and teal colours as well as edible glitter, rendering it a treat for the eyes. It is made in a similar way to the rainbow bagel, whereby bakers stack layers of colored dough on top of one another before slicing through, twisting and baking it.

Admittedly, the dough isn't quite as colorful as the eye-popping rainbow bagel, but the glitter certainly makes up for the lack of vibrant highlights. The Bagel Store, the inventive bakery based in Brooklyn, recommends that you grab your first taste of the bagel with "moon rock cream cheese" filling. FYI, that's cream cheese frosting with Oreo chunks. Sound like something you'd be interested in? I thought so.

"A tremendous amount of discipline is required to make the world's most beautiful bagel", creator Scot Rossillo told Insider when the bakery's rainbow bagel went viral last year. We're betting just as much hard work and dedication went into creating the twinkling bagel that is literally out of this world.

In fact, the only downside to this whole glitter movement is that in order to try one, you have to travel all the way to the Big Apple. Wait a minute... that's not a downside, that's just an excuse for a trip to to New York. Never mind.
