By now you're all too familiar with fad diets and health foods, which guarantee to improve your mind, body, and soul. This is the reality of 2018, which will likely be remembered as the year the world went vegan.
The seeds of the movement began many years ago, but it wasn't until recently that it really sprouted. The Vegan Society reports that the demand for meat-free food increased 987% in 2017, with veganism on track to be the biggest food trend of 2018.
As a result of veganism's popularity, the world has become more conscious of the health benefits possessed by food alternatives. For example, the market value of non-dairy milk has risen by 61% in the last five years in the US alone. But, whilst a splash of almond milk in your coffee is now considered pretty normal, there are other options which are unlikely to see the same popularity.
Here are some healthy snacks you can add to your diet (sperm not included):
For example, if your doctor/nutritionist told you to drink sperm every day in order to get the necessary vitamins for your body, would you willingly oblige? Or, think it repulsive? For most, it's the latter option.
But not for single mom, Tracy Kiss. The 29-year-old took it upon herself to start consuming sperm every day after reading about the health benefits of the bodily fluid.
As a vegan, Tracy felt as though her body needed an extra ingredient to give her energy. Sperm is especially high in the vitamin B12, a nutrient that vegans lack in their diet.
As a personal trainer and qualified nutritional advisor, Tracy decided to experiment with sperm. However, being single she needed to request the support of her male best friend - who now delivers sperm to her three times a week.
The mom-of-two then blends it with bananas, seeds and almond milk for a health-rich smoothie that she drinks every morning.
"I’d been feeling run down and had no energy, but now I’m full of beans and my mood has improved," explains Tracy, who resides in Buckinghamshire, England.
"Every batch tastes different, depending on what he’s been eating," she reveals. "If he’s been drinking alcohol or eaten something particularly pungent like asparagus, I ask him to give me a heads up so I know not to drink it neat."
"Things like pineapple and peppermint make it taste better, but I’ll happily take it straight off a spoon usually," she adds.
Of course, a lot of people don't share Tracy's enthusiasm for sperm. "People are so weird about sperm when in actual fact a teaspoon is filled with amazing goodness," she says.
Not only does Tracy drink it, but she also uses sperm as part of her beauty routine, slathering it onto her face to help keep her skin young. She credits it for improving her complexion.
Initially, Tracy's male friend was reluctant to provide his services. But she managed to convince him.
"When I first approached him, he was concerned I’d use it to impregnate myself," she admits. "But once I’d convinced him it was for my beauty regime he agreed – after all, he has a regular supply at hand!"
"I know he’s healthy, doesn’t smoke, drink or do drugs and I made him have an STI check," she explains. "My other mates think I’m strange, but I don’t give a toss."
But whilst she is currently happy using her best friend to supply her sperm, in the future, she hopes for a partner who will endeavor to meet her demands: "I want a relationship where my partner asks if I want one shot or two shots of sperm in my smoothie each morning!"
