This Woman Ordered Take Out Just To Ask The Delivery Guy To Solve Her Embarrassing Problem

Living on your own is awesome! You never have anyone in your personal space, you can do what you want when you want, and no one will judge you for cooking dinner in your underpants. However, if you happen to have a fear of creepy crawly things, there can be a problem.

Living by yourself poses one main problem: Who is going to kill all the nasty, terrifying, evil spiders? Well, one young woman in Bournemouth, UK, came up with a very clever solution to this after an evil arachnid invaded her personal space.

Yes, spiders are clearly here on Earth to torment us. There really is no other logical explanation for their presence, so when Demi Sweeney came face-to-face with one of the vile creatures in her own home, she needed a gallant hero to rescue her.

In Demi's case, the hero she sent for happened to have a day job as a Deliveroo driver.

It turns out Demi hatched a clever plan to order food and then kindly ask the delivery driver to kill the spider. Demi ordered some tasty KFC online and then in the special request section, revealed her spider situation.

Demi wrote: “Hello. (Sounds silly but this is a serious question) I have a huge phobia of spiders, there’s one in the corridor of our house near to the door. If I order food through Deliveroo is it possible at all if the driver could get rid of it?”

Deliveroo, which is a food delivery service, wrote back and said:“You can most certainly request this in the ‘delivery note’ section when placing your order. The only thing is, our rider may be more afraid of [spiders] than you are….”

Demi decided to take the risk and it turns out that risk panned out! When her savior turned up on foot, carrying fried chicken, and only his bike helmet to protect him, he took to her hallway and battled the eight-legged beast until the situation was dealt with. (It is still unclear as to whether or not Joe killed the spider, or just removed it - I kinda hope he just threw it out the nearest window!)

All hail Joe the delivery guy!

Demi explained the terrifying moment in her own words to BuzzFeed.

She said, "When I pointed at the top of the stairs handing him the tissue roll and getting him a chair to stand on, he then reached for the spider and accidentally dropped it on the floor where it began to run, which made me panic more.

"He said: 'Look away, don't look,' I thanked him around 50 times; he kept saying this is so funny, whilst laughing. I wanted to hug him. A real-life hero," she added.

Well, I guess we all now know who to call when we spy a creepy crawly threatening to attack. Perhaps Deliveroo can add insect extermination as an optional extra service! Either way, I'm thinking the next time I spy a nasty spider, it's the universe totally telling me to go ahead and order a pizza.

And who knows? Maybe delivery guys are simply the modern day version of knights in shining armor. Who said chivalry was dead? Joe is a total hero in my books!
