The World’s First Solid Chocolate Easter Egg Is Finally Here

Easter is nearly upon us, which means that it’s time to make the most important decision of the year: which Easter egg are you going to buy? The possibilities are seemingly endless, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with the choices available. White chocolate? Milk chocolate? Save or splurge? Do you get a free mug with your egg? These are all issues which need to be thought about in great detail.

My personal issue lies with the fact that the egg is always so much more hollow than anticipated. Every year, I look forward to a chocolatey egg-shaped treat but alas, it’s 80 per cent less chocolate than I’m looking for. So, what’s a chocolate lover to do?

It’s a hard decision for chocoholics, but if you’re pretty particular about the chocolate-to-hollowness ratio, then I’ve got the perfect solution for you. The Solid Chocolate Company have created an Easter egg which is made out of 42 pieces of solid chocolate.

They come in various flavours, including milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark and caramel. The eggs are made of the finest Belgian chocolate, and cost £24.99 ($31.00). It may be pricey, but I assure you that it’s worth it. The segments fit together like a delicious, three-dimensional chocolate jigsaw puzzle.

The company’s website elaborated on the creative process behind the solid chocolate egg, writing: “Do you also remember the disappointment of opening all that packaging and breaking the egg only to find that its it was hollow?

“We decided to do something about it, so we set about designing a solid chocolate Easter egg. It’s not rocket science to just put two solid halves together, but that wasn’t good enough for us. We wanted to have an egg made of solid, bite-sized pieces that fit together to make a solid egg. And guess what…we did it!”

These guys are clearly on to something here. I’m more than happy to trust these guys with solving world peace, if they’ve got enough time on their hands. Alternatively, they could just keep making delicious chocolate eggs for the world to revel in. Have you got yours yet?
