The sneaky folk over at Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups have been teasing us about the possibility of a new flavor for a while now. Over the last few months, they’ve been updating us on their cupspiracy theories. In a statement, they teased: “Think: Your favorite peanut butter cup filled with crunchy chocolate cookie bits that cause a cuplosion in your mouth. It’s chocolatier. It’s crunchier. It’s cupsplosive. But you know that.”
What could they have up their sleeves? It turns out that the product team have managed to make Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups even better, by adding a little bit of crunch. Introducing the Crunchy Cookie Cup. Inside the new product, they’ve added crushed cookies into the peanut butter mix, meaning that you get a little bit of biscuit with every bite.
TeenVogue were lucky enough to try the new Crunchy Cookie Cups out, and the verdict was positive: “I actually really liked it. The crunchy bits were a good texture to switch up the normal Reese’s. It didn’t change the classic Reese’s flavor…it just made it more interesting to eat.”
You can buy the Crunchy Cookie Cups in two sizes: regular and king size. Reese’s themselves are pretty confident that you’ll be capable handling the king size cup: “You can get the classic, old fashioned size cup, or, if you dare, you can get your paws on a King Size Crunchy Big Cup. Go big or go home, right?!” That’s the right kind of attitude towards Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in my opinion.
Sadly, they’re not going to be available in stores until May, so you may have to put those dreams of a crunchy, peanut-y Reese’s Cup on hold for the moment. If you’re UK-based, you may want to start looking at flights because at present, Reese’s haven’t mentioned any plans for the Crunchy Cookie Cup to be launched in the UK.
