By now, no matter how attuned to pop culture you try to be (or try not to be), you're probably aware that Kylie Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan at just 20 years old, has given birth to a baby. It's part of a hat-trick of new babies that will undoubtedly be screaming over tapings of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Depending on who you are, you might have treated the shock announcement of Kylie's birth with some form of shock or elation... or you probably went about your day as usual. Initially, I was in the latter camp, but then Kylie Jenner started talking about pregnancy food. Naturally, from then on, then I had to pay attention.
In the past, we've combed through Kylie's pregnancy announcement video (all inexplicable 11 minutes of it), to discover that our young socialite was really into In-N-Out Burger during her term. But loving In-N-Out doesn't count as a strange desire. It doesn't make Kylie Jenner quirky; it barely makes her human.
For those of you who have some experience with new babies, you'll know that pregnancy comes with some very, very weird cravings, and Kylie's latest admission is more in line with what you'd expect from someone who'd been carrying a baby in them for nine months while also being ridiculously rich and famous.
Since giving birth to baby Stormi back on Feb 1, Kylie Jenner has been the talk of Twitter and the internet alike. Slowly but surely, she's making her way back into the public eye, newborn baby in tow, and in that vein, Kylie revealed that every day of her pregnancy involved her eating Mexican-inspired shrimp tacos.
As an avid seafood lover, I'm thoroughly impressed, and do you know what's even better? She makes them all herself. On her reality show Life of Kylie, the 20-year-old revealed her love for the pescatarian way, and revealed that Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown's former girlfriend, gave her the recipe.
"She taught me and I kind of just fell in love. The tacos, the guac, the onions, the shrimp, the shell. The juiciness drips down your lips. Mmm, shrimp."
As we all know, Kylie Jenner kept her pregnancy under wraps for the most part, and although we had an idea that she was expecting a baby with the rapper Travis Scott, it wasn't until her shock announcement at the beginning of this month that we actually got official confirmation from the socialite herself. She took the time to apologize for her radio silence.
"My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. ‘I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free and healthy way I knew how."
That's cool, Kylie: I totally understand, and as long as you're eating good food as you go about your mothering, I'm not too picky. I'll forgive you. Eventually. If you were to share your shrimp taco recipe with us, though... I could probably forgive you a little bit quicker.
