KFC Have Invented Artisan Fried Chicken-Flavored Chocolate Truffles

Fried chicken is great, isn't it? How about fried chicken polished off with a few cheeky chocolate truffles? That's pretty much my dream meal right there. Now, what if I told you it was possible to have both fried chicken and chocolate truffles at the same time, in some bizarre Willy Wonka-style mash up?

Thanks to KFC New Zealand, this mad chicken plus chocolate dream is now a reality. Over the weekend, the fried chicken connoisseurs announced they've partnered with artisan chocolatiers Kako Chocolate in order to create the unique chicken-flavored chocolates.

According to the New Zealand Herald, KFC's chicken truffles come in two flavors, including "a nutty and creamy milk chocolate truffle topped with 23 carat gold leaf and seasoned with the Colonel's eleven secret herbs and spices, and a dark chocolate truffle infused with their signature hot and spicy marinade."

Twenty Facebook users were randomly selected to taste test the chicken-flavored sweet treats over the weekend, but there's no word yet on whether they actually tasted any good. In total, 30 boxes of KFC (C standing for chocolate, obviously) were produced, the remaining ten boxes are going to be sold to “KFC superfans.”

Now, if orange duck, honey ham and maple syrup bacon are all considered totally fine; then I don't really see the issue with attempting a chicken chocolate hybrid. If salted caramel works, why not a secret blend of 11 herbs and spices chocolate? I for one am down to give it a try.
