Jennifer Garner reveals the healthy breakfast smoothie that helps her to stay in shape

Jennifer Garner is quickly making her way to foodie diety. The star recently took to social media to show off her Ina Garten inspired Food Network skills in the kitchen. The video entitled Pretend Cooking Show went down a treat with many Facebook users.

In the video she showed off her baking skills in a step-by-step video making Garten's honey white bread recipe and while doing so she got really gushy saying: "I’m not an expert but if you want to make your family happy over and over again this is one recipe that if you get it down, you can do anything with it."

Having three children and being a celebrity, Garner definitely understands and appreciates how important good nutrition is. The right food help keeps her full of energy without pilling on the pounds and a good breakfast really helps with that. To start her day off right, Jennifer Garner has a go-to breakfast smoothie.

Garner says she began whipping up a smoothie she learned from nutritionist Kelly Le Veque to help get in shape for her role in the upcoming action movie Peppermint. “I started working with @bewellbykelly a few months ago to get ready for #PEPPERMINTmovie and have had her smoothie every day for breakfast since.”

In September of last year, the actress signed on as a co-founder of Once Upon a Farm - a company that sells cold-pressed organic baby food and applesauce. For her smoothie, Garner takes the recipe she knows and loves but gives it her own spin, replacing the fruit purée with fresh blueberries.

“Today, I decided to play scientist and see if my @onceuponafarm cold-pressed, organic purée (or baby food, if you’re a baby, but whatever) could be a substitute for fresh blueberries when I didn’t see any in the fridge. Yep, it could,” she said.

To create the dish at home, you'll need two scoops collagen protein powder, a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, a tablespoon of chia seeds, a tablespoon of almond butter, one and a half cups of unsweetened almond milk and a handful of fresh spinach. You'll also need a small handful of ice and a very small handful of blueberries.

Simply put all your ingredients together in a blender, mix and enjoy. The collagen protein powder keeps you full, and is also known for improving skin as well as hair health. Kelly LeVeque who gave her the recipe is a holistic nutritionist that truly believes in the stuff. LeVeque also works with Chelsea Handler, Emmy Rossum, and Molly Sims.

Kelly is known for what she calls her Fab Four formula: a drink with enough protein, fat, fiber and greens to keep you full for hours. This drink has all of that, and tastes great. If you have this every day with a carefully planned lunch and dinner a few times a week, it will be a matter of time before you too are movie ready.
