Guy Who Hadn’t Brushed His Teeth For 20 YEARS Receives A Stunning Makeover

I am a hygiene freak, particularly when it comes to my teeth. I make sure that I clean them at least twice a day, sometimes three times if I have a particularly "sweet" day (cake, fizzy drinks etc). So when I read the news that someone hadn't brushed their teeth for 20 years, it's safe to say I nearly had a heart attack.

People say that the smile is often the most important part of someone's face; it gives away when you're happy and also is key for making first impressions.

If someone has a nice pair of gnashers when you meet them, the likelihood is that they look after themselves and take care of their appearance. Whilst we're all guilty of swerving the dentist and not flossing from time-to-time, not cleaning your teeth for 20 years is absolutely insane.

But meet Jay, a 21-year-old who was not informed about the benefits of dental hygiene at a young age, so hasn't brushed his teeth for the last 20 years.

Appearing on Embarrassing Bodies (a show where not-so embarrassed people go and show what is wrong with them in front of an audience of millions), Jay informed the presenters of the shocking confession and even admitted that despite not brushing his teeth, he also ate and drank terribly as well. "Over the years, I’ve eaten the wrong food, I’ve drank lots of fizzy drinks and I haven’t really taken care of them, I have really brushed them or flossed or anything like that."

Take a look at the clip below:

Dr James took a rattle around Jay's mouth, and it's safe to say the results were pretty bad. Jay's teeth had become so eroded that they had essentially "rotted into stubs".

Such was the mess that his teeth were in, with a thick build-up of tartar, food, and bacteria laying on top of them, the dental hygienist had to give them a deep cleanse in order to see the extent of the damage.

Jay wanted a new set of teeth in order to get his confidence back, and is always the case, Embarrassing Bodies complied. He was informed that he would need 11 teeth removed and upon the discovery that his roots were in surprisingly good health, surgeons decided to get him dental implants, rather than dentures.

However, in order to qualify for this treatment, Jay had to completely transform his dental hygiene routine for two weeks so that the team could see that he was committed to his new lifestyle. It's safe to say that Jay took to his new instructions like a fish to water, and made sure that he was brushing his teeth daily in order to get the smile he desired.

Following two strenuous surgeries on his mouth, Jay had his new pearly whites and after a beard shave and a haircut, looked like a completely new man. Just look how happy he is!

It's safe to say he was happy with the dazzling conclusion of it all, saying, "I'm a much happier person and I'm definitely going forward to achieve my dreams really." I guess the lesson we've all learned here is pretty simple really: Don't leave it 20 years until you brush your teeth.
