Economy Vs First Class Airline Food From Around The World

Those who have had the privilege to fly first class will boast about the roomy leg space, the superiority of the reclining chairs and of course of the many other perks (mostly booze and food related) that you can partake in when you’ve shelled out over $3,000 to cruise the skies in style. Certainly after spending years hitting your knees against the tray table, eating food with plastic cutlery and competing with the stranger next to you for armrest space, first class can seem like a whole new world.

Perhaps the biggest difference between economy and first class, however, is the food that you’re served in-flight. Just a few yards down from the cramped seats of economy class, you can pull back a white curtain and be served food that is prepared by an actual chef, having a browse through a killer wine list as well. But we have to ask ourselves, is first class food good enough to justify the hefty price-tag? I mean, can chef’s really achieve restaurant quality at an altitude of 39,000 feet? If you’re like me and can’t afford to taste-test the two, have a scroll through these images and try to spot the more appetizing option. You never know, maybe it will be the economy option that whets your appetite…

Well, I don’t know about you but I was rather impressed by some of the economy options. So next time I step into an airport and feel first class beckoning, I can shut it down with the knowledge that my meal could be just as good. Either that or I’ll be served something unrecognizable, like the dinner provided by KLM Airlines…
