As a top model, bestselling cookery writer and fully hilarious human being, married to an international superstar who regularly dedicates songs to her, it would be oh-so-easy to hate Chrissy Teigen. But I'm afraid you're not allowed to, because she's proved that - as we always suspected - she's actually a totally great person too.
As if she wasn't already just about the friendliest celebrity out there, Teigen made a waitress' night when she left a tip of unimaginable proportions during a recent visit to Outback Steakhouse in Centerville, Ohio (yes, celebs eat at the same restaurants as you sometimes): $1,000.
Lucky Mikaya Scott, 21, only looked at the bill after Teigen had left the restaurant and, unsurprisingly, was fairly happy with her unexpected windfall, telling the Associated Press: "I was like, 'Oh my god, praise the Lord.' It was an awesome experience." She added that she spent the money on fixing the family car, but also shared some with her co-workers, which just goes to prove that kindness begets kindness, really.
Anyone who's ever worked in the service industry will appreciate how exciting (or disappointing) reading the tip line at the end of meal can be; it can not only make or break your mood for the evening, but your ability to pay rent/ buy those new boots you definitely need.
Teigen naturally chose to order the Bloomin' Onion which, for those not in the know, is essentially an onion carved into the shape of a flower and baked, then served with a signature dip; it is one of the most popular items on the whole menu. It's not the first time she's expressed a love for this dish either - back in April, the restaurant chain even flew chefs to her house to teach her how to make it from scratch at home.
As well as a range of appetizers, Teigen also ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with a glass of Pinot Grigio. The bill came to $193.81, meaning she left a 516 percent tip - far, far, greater than the usual 20 percent benchmark.
Teigen, who was dining with her daughter Luna and a group of friends, is known for being a massive foodie and for being refreshingly down to earth when it comes to what she eats. Her 2016 cookbook Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat contains recipes for mac n' cheese and epic breakfast sandwiches, and she regularly tweets about chocolate, chips and even KFC.
Of course, she's not the only celeb known for being a great tipper - David Beckham once tipped $1,000 on a $100 bill, Harry Styles left a $600 tip after his sister's birthday meal, and Amy Schumer left $500 to a college student on a $48 bill. Jay Z has got to come top of the pack though, once reportedly leaving a $50,000 tip after a night out (having admittedly spent $250,000 on champagne).
So basically, what we're saying is, that we'd be more than happy to wait on any of these people. In the meantime though, can we just hang out with Chrissy? She seems so cool!
