An Australian Bakery Has Created A 24-Carat Gold Cronut

Is anyone out there feeling a little flushed this week? Got too much money burning a hole in your pocket and you simply have to get rid of it? Well, what better way to spend that extra cash than on a 24-carat gold cronut?

That's right, the world's very first 24-carat gold donut / croissant hybrid has just been released and you need to know about it. As you may have guessed, the "cronut" or "dossant", is the perfect love child of a croissant and donut. Does that sound like something you'd be interested in? I suspected as much.

Created by Goldeluck’s Bakeshop in Australia, the cronut is covered in 96 per cent pure edible gold and it looks pretty stunning in the photo. Some would even say it's the perfect Mother's Day gift for any cronut-loving moms out there.

But what exactly would a cronut taste like, if you did spend your hard-earned money on purchasing one? Well, its makers have claimed that this particular treat has been given a delicious chocolate fudge filling. If you weren't sold before, you definitely will be now you know there's chocolate involved.

But the all-important question is how much will the dossant leave you short? Amazingly, it's pretty cheap! Goldeluck’s Bakeshop are selling the magical snack for AUD $15 (USD $11), a far cry from what you'd usually expect for such a precious sugary snack.

However, as Goldeluck’s Bakeshop warn us on their website, stocks are extremely limited, so all cronut worshippers are advised to get their orders in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. What are you waiting for? I, for one, think it would be pure madness to miss out.
